WHAT IS THE SPVU?

Pulmonary Hypertension - Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit - SPVU Glasgow ScotlandThe Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU) was founded in 1990 and aims to provide the highest quality of care for all patients with pulmonary hypertension in Scotland, including accurate diagnosis, initiation of specialised treatment and long-term follow-up. We refer onwards when necessary to other specialist National Services such as the Pulmonary Thromboendartectomy Service located in Cambridge, and Heart and Lung Transplantation in Newcastle. The unit is based in the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank, Glasgow, and is funded centrally by the National Services Division of Scotland.
